CRE Bridges Blockchain and Traditional Finance
At the end of October 2024, Chainlink unveiled the CRE, a method for deploying code directly to the Chainlink Platform for capabilities like composition and building. Thus, on-chain contracts no longer require Chainlink-specific functionality.
CRE essentially serves as the Chainlink network’s operating system. It assembles price feeds, cross-chain messaging, external application programming interfaces (API), zero-knowledge proofs, and compliance checks and executes workflows made up of Chainlink services. Additionally, CRE makes it possible to integrate blockchain protocols and smart contracts with legacy institutions, payment systems, and conventional financial architecture.
