Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin Bet: 8 Weeks of Consecutive Buys
Michael Saylor– Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor shared a new Bitcoin (BTC) chart on X, suggesting another BTC purchase is imminent—marking the eighth straight week of acquisitions by the company.
“Orange is my preferred color,” Saylor wrote to his 4.4 million followers, reinforcing his identity as one of the most visible corporate Bitcoin advocates.
580,250 BTC and Counting
On May 26, Strategy added 4,020 BTC to its holdings—worth approximately $427 million at the time. This pushed the company’s total stash to 580,250 BTC, according to Bitcoin Treasuries. That makes Strategy the largest known corporate Bitcoin holder, surpassing even the combined holdings of the U.S. and Chinese governments.

The company’s BTC accumulation strategy has made it a proxy investment for institutional traders seeking exposure to Bitcoin (BTC). CryptoQuant analyst Ki Young Ju noted that Strategy’s aggressive accumulation is already influencing market dynamics. Executives at Sygnum Bank suggested that such large-scale institutional buying could contribute to a supply shock, potentially impacting Bitcoin (BTC) prices.
Proof-of-Reserves Controversy Grows
Despite its bullish stance, Strategy faces growing criticism over the lack of transparent proof-of-reserve audits. Some market observers question whether the company truly holds the Bitcoin it claims.

One user replied to Saylor’s post:
“No proof of reserves is your preferred ‘trust me bro.’ When mempool?”
Saylor, however, maintains that proof-of-reserve audits pose security risks: “They expose wallets to tracking and could attract threat actors,” he argued.
Many industry leaders agree that the transparency of blockchain—while a core strength—is also a challenge for large enterprises trying to keep sensitive information private.
