Kalshi Funding Surge: $1B Round Propels $11B Valuation

In its most recent investment round, Kalshi, a decentralized prediction market platform, raised $1 billion. The company is valued at $11 billion due to this funding, TechCrunch reported on Thursday. The company’s current backers, CapitalG and Sequoia, spearheaded the most recent funding round. According to the report, investors that took part in the round included Andreessen Horowitz, Paradigm, Anthos Capital, and Neo. Only a few weeks after the company announced a $300 million financing last month, the $1 billion investment came.

Kalshi’s Volume Growth Signals Ambitious Expansion Plans

Since September, U.S.-regulated Kalshi has surpassed competitor Polymarket in monthly volume. In October, Kalshi’s volume was $4.4 billion, while Polymarket‘s was $3.02 billion. Kalshi’s head of cryptocurrency, John Wang, stated last month that the platform had big intentions. Within the next 12 months, its prediction market hopes to be accessible on all major cryptocurrency applications and exchanges.

Prediction Markets Evolve Into Broader Information Hubs

There was a lot of interest in prediction markets in 2025. Earlier this month, Google Finance declared that Polymarket and Kalshi would be immediately incorporated into its search results. Analysts at Bernstein also stated earlier this month that prediction markets are changing. They are evolving into more comprehensive information centers covering politics, business, economics, culture, and sports.
