Why Are Investors Flocking to Revolut Amid a Surge in Public Crypto Listings?
Revolut, the London-based digital banking powerhouse, has reached a staggering $75 billion valuation, following a major share sale announced Monday. The funding round, led by Coatue, Greenoaks, Fidelity, and Dragoneer, with participation from a16z, Franklin Templeton, T. Rowe Price, and Nvidia’s NVentures, also allowed employees to cash out a portion of their equity, marking the fifth staff liquidity event in the company’s history.
Record Revenue and Explosive Growth
Founded in 2015, Revolut has evolved into a global financial platform offering digital banking, payments, investment products, and cryptocurrency trading. The company reported a 72% year-over-year increase in revenue to $4 billion in 2024, while profit before tax soared 149% to $1.4 billion.
The platform now serves over 65 million retail customers, with its business division hitting $1 billion in annualized revenue in 2025.
Expanding Banking Licenses and Crypto Services
Over the past year, Revolut secured banking licenses in Mexico and Colombia and is preparing to launch services in India. In October, the company received authorization from Cyprus’s securities regulator to operate regulated crypto services under the EU’s MiCA framework, enabling it to offer crypto trading, custody, and payments across 30 European Economic Area countries.
IPO Buzz and a Booming Crypto Listing Trend
The company is reportedly exploring a dual public listing in London and New York, though no timeline has been confirmed. This comes amid a surge in cryptocurrency-related public listings in 2025, including Circle (USDC) on the NYSE, Figure and Gemini on Nasdaq, and filings from BitGo, Kraken, and Grayscale planning to go public.
Revolut’s $75 billion valuation underscores the company’s rapid global expansion and deepening footprint in crypto banking, positioning it at the forefront of both fintech and digital asset innovation.
