BTC Exchange Outflows Soar – Long-Term Bitcoin Holders Are Back — Could This Spark a New Bull Run?
BTC Exchange Outflows Soar – Despite Bitcoin [BTC] trading comfortably above the $100,000 mark, public enthusiasm remains surprisingly muted, as reflected by low interest on Google Trends and subdued chatter on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Some speculated a looming double top near $108K, reminiscent of the 2021 cycle peak, but the on-chain data tells a different story.

Sustained Exchange Outflows Signal Strong Investor Confidence
Since March 2025, Bitcoin has experienced consistent net outflows from exchanges, with over 3,600 BTC withdrawn daily. This sustained negative Exchange Netflow is a strong bullish signal, indicating that investors are moving their BTC off exchanges to long-term storage rather than selling. The trend suggests growing confidence among holders, contrary to fears of an imminent market top.
Short-Term Holders Curtail Profit-Taking Activity
Further supporting the bullish outlook, Short-Term Holder (STH) profit-taking has significantly decreased over the past two weeks. The STH Profit to Exchanges metric dropped from a spike of 49,500 BTC near $11K to just 3,400 BTC in early June, as Bitcoin hovered around the $108,000 price level. This decline in profit-taking reflects diminished selling pressure from short-term traders, despite BTC’s high valuation.
Long-Term Holders Accumulate, Expecting Uptrend Ahead
Meanwhile, Long-Term Holders (LTH) have been steadily accumulating Bitcoin since April. The 30-day Net Position Change metric turned positive, showing a net gain of 535,000 BTC. This accumulation trend mirrors previous patterns observed in October 2023 and September-October 2024, which preceded rapid price rallies.

Outlook: Potential for Another Bullish Run?
The current dynamics, including strong long-term holder accumulation and reduced short-term selling, indicate that the market may be positioning itself for another bullish phase. While public excitement remains low, the on-chain metrics suggest that whales and major investors anticipate upward momentum in the weeks ahead.
