Bitcoin’s Price Momentum Likely to Continue
Bitcoin soared past a new all-time high at $117,176 early Friday morning, fueled by growing institutional interest and encouraging market signals. Over the past 24 hours, the world’s largest cryptocurrency gained 5.5%, while Ether jumped 7.3% to trade near $2,981, according to The Block’s latest price data.
Jeff Mei, COO of crypto exchange BTSE, told The Block:
“Bitcoin hitting another all-time high is a major signal that the industry is on the cusp of kicking off a major bull run.”
Institutional Appetite and Macro Stability Drive Momentum
Vincent Liu, CIO of Kronos Research, highlighted calmer macro conditions and rising institutional adoption as key factors rekindling interest in BTC. He noted that bitcoin is increasingly viewed as a regulated, long-term asset comparable to gold.
Market activity reflects this shift, with spot bitcoin ETFs recording inflows of $1.18 billion on Thursday—the second-highest daily inflow since their inception. Min Jung, research analyst at Presto Research, linked the surge to expectations of U.S. interest rate cuts and broadening institutional demand.
Regulatory Changes and Growth Potential
Despite short-term uncertainties like tariff risks, experts remain optimistic. Jung stated:
“The onset of a rate-cutting cycle and growing institutional adoption offer strong tailwinds for bitcoin’s price.”
Adding to the bullish outlook, Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, pointed to recent regulatory developments such as the GENIUS Act and tax rule removals as factors reducing barriers and encouraging institutional influx.
The combination of favorable regulation, macroeconomic shifts, and expanding investor base continues to push bitcoin toward new historic highs.
