Strategy Continues Bitcoin Accumulation Despite Market Volatility
Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to Bitcoin by purchasing an additional 3,081 BTC worth $356.9 million during a week of significant market turbulence. The acquisition was completed at an average price of $115,829 per coin, according to a recent SEC filing.
Strategic Purchase During Market Dip
The timing of this purchase coincided with Bitcoin’s price decline from approximately $116,700 at the beginning of the week to $112,000 on Thursday. This latest acquisition brings Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 632,457 BTC, representing a massive investment of about $46.5 billion at an average purchase price of $73,527 per coin.
August Acquisition Pattern Shows Decline
Throughout August, Strategy has acquired 3,666 BTC, marking a notable decrease from the company’s previous buying spree. The business intelligence firm purchased 31,466 BTC in July and 17,075 BTC in June, indicating a slower acquisition pace in recent weeks.
This month’s purchases include the recent 3,081 BTC buy, a 430 BTC purchase announced the previous Monday, and a 155 BTC acquisition from the week prior.
“Buying the Top Forever” Philosophy
Saylor has previously stated his unconventional approach to Bitcoin investing, famously declaring, “I’m going to be buying the top forever. Bitcoin is the exit strategy.” This philosophy explains why Strategy historically avoids purchasing during significant market dips, preferring instead to buy at higher price points.
Performance Metrics Exceed Targets
The company’s BTC yield, a key performance indicator measuring the percentage change between Bitcoin holdings and diluted shares outstanding, has reached 25.4% as of Monday. After achieving its previous 25% year-to-date target in July 2025, Strategy revised its 2025 targets upward, now aiming for a 30% BTC yield and $20 billion in BTC gains.

Currently, the company’s year-to-date Bitcoin gain stands at 113,524 BTC, showcasing the effectiveness of its Bitcoin treasury strategy despite market volatility.
