Solana Seeker Smartphone Debuts with On‑Chain Genesis Token Perks
Tens of thousands of Solana Mobile’s Seeker crypto smartphones are currently departing warehouses for customers in more than 50 countries, the company announced in an Aug. 4 update. After Solana Mobile, a division of Solana Labs, released the Saga phone last year, the Seeker is the company’s second-generation mobile. Pre-installed on the Android-based device are blockchain features such as an on-chain Genesis Token that gives holders early access to new apps and SKR token awards, a hardware security solution called Seed Vault key storage, and an integrated Solana dApp Store.
The shipping date was initially disclosed by Solana Labs in May. The launch of Seeker aligns with Solana‘s larger mobile strategy, which now includes Nikita Bier, X’s head of product and social media entrepreneur, as an adviser.

In addition to payments, DeFi, and games, Solana’s dApp Store features over 100 applications, including the community-led DEX aggregator ShapeShift. The business has hinted at a more thorough integration with DePIN and AI services. The soulbound Genesis Token and future SKR incentives that each handset creates are reminiscent of Saga’s “Chapter 2” airdrop, which contributed to the initial model’s high demand.

Seeker, Saga’s successor, is part of a growing number of mainstream-oriented crypto-native devices. When Saga first came out with phones in 2023, they cost an outrageous $1000. Since the free tokens were now worth more than the phone’s price, the distribution increased demand.
