Somnium is a metaverse that aims to be a habitat. The main vision is to take communication within the metaverse to the next level.
When you go down to the bottom of the website, you have come across projects that you are excited about and that interest you. Sominum became one of them for me. The first thing I saw as different was its integration with VR glasses. They have partnerships with brands such as Oculus, Vive, Sony. So you can play the game with the most known VR glasses. If you wish, you can play on the Web or via Steam. You can also play on Windows by downloading its own client.
Somnium’s vision is to take communication within the metaverse to the next level. Instead of just making exhibitions and playing games, it is possible for users to spend a day without getting tired by communicating between real life and virtual world, where they can do e-commerce. One of the things they specifically mention is that the world is completely created by users. This is the reason why I call this formation America; they offer immigrants unlimited possibilities & the possibility to do many things. The world is unlimited, in other words as big as its users.
This project is located on the Etherium and Solana blockchains. You can buy the land through their partner OpenSea. They say that they allow unlimited freedom in these lands. You can create the experiences yourself that users will encounter on your land. Although it is a metaverse developed using UnitySDK technology, it allows users to design many things up to character animations.
They have an in-game token called CUBE(ERC20) from the Ethereum Blockchain. This token is more of a unit created to facilitate purchases within the metaverse. It is a token that you can use to buy any wearable or anything else, which is effective in creating the economy in the metaverse. Since it is on the Ethereum blockchain, it is inevitable that they will also use a Layer 2 service to avoid gas fees. For this reason, they enable users to send ETH and CUBE to the same Ethereum address using Polygon.
It’s a world where you can do a lot of things, from creating a ticket for users to enter your land to designing wearable avatars. I can also say that Unity has done a good job on graphics. The graphics could be better, but it’s something that can be overlooked as they stand out for monetization and customization.

Summary
I can clearly say that it is one of the best metaverse projects I have come across recently. When you look at their partners, you see brands such as Microsoft and Polygon, but they also have reliable partners in hardware. They have already agreed with most VR companies. Visions predict that in the future the metaverse concept will reach the level of the Ready: Player One movie. That’s why they have designed not only a metaverse where you can play from the browser but also a metaverse where VR technology can be used at an adequate level. A project that excites about its future. So I say, we need that stuff.
