NFT NYC Draws Huge Interest Despite NFT's Bear Market

Despite the bear market, the NFT NYC event attracted a lot of attention. The event, which lists 180 different events, has a separate event that will attract the attention of each participant, and all of them will be accessible for 3 days.

NFT NYC Draws Huge Interest Despite NFT’s Bear Market

NFT sales rose to $2 billion in February, attracting many investors. However, it fell to just under $2 billion in March. As a result, we can say that NFTs have transitioned to a bear market. On the other hand, the NFT NYC event proved the blending of Web3 and NFT culture. Judging by the event, the NFT is still alive and well. In the rest of the article, we will talk about some of the sessions that stood out.

9dcc Treasure Hunt

An NFT scavenger hunt with stops throughout the city was organized by NFT collector and influencer Gmoney and his Web3 luxury company 9dcc. Over the course of three days, competitors had to visit at least seven unique places from a longer list, checking in at each one by scanning their phones to get a POAP (proof-of-attendance protocol) NFT proving they were there and winning prizes like a rare Chromie Squiggle NFT.

This is just one of the numerous novel, social, commercially viable, and technically sound use cases for NFTs that we are witnessing today.

Jeremy Booth’s NFC-chipped Wrangler Jacket

With his sharp Western-themed artwork featured in collections like “Boots” and “Dirt,” the commercial artist Jeremy Booth, a former Coinbase illustrator, has had a rise in popularity in the NFT art community. For NFT NYC, he collaborated with Wrangler to create a special “Western Art Dept” black denim jacket. It was decorated with his original cowboy art. The jacket included an NFC (near-field communication) chip that allowed anyone Jeremy met during the week to scan his sleeve and receive a Concrete Cowboys “proof of friendship” POAP with his artwork on it.

Web3 sci-fi TV Series Scores Big Names

David Bianchi, a seasoned television actor, was in town to promote his upcoming dystopian sci-fi series “RZR,” which this week revealed Mena Suvari and Danny Trejo as special guest stars. The eight-part live-action series was created by a Web3 company specifically for Web3 release, making it a completely native Web3 endeavor.

The new streaming service from Gala Film, a part of Gala Games’ Web3 gaming business, will debut in July. The production company of the television program created by Bianchi sold NFTs to encourage viewership (holders will have access to supplementary material). After the series premieres on Gala, Bianchi is already in discussions with several significant streaming sites regarding a potential wider release.
