About Hackathon (5-7 June 2023)

The three-day ETH Belgrade Hackathon brings together Web3 experts from all over the world to compete for bounties offered by sponsors and partners as well as the top prize. In light of this, the goal of the event is to enable developers to develop cutting-edge, practical use cases for emerging technologies on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains. In addition, the winner of the hackathon will receive a grand prize of 16.000 dollars.

Rules of a Hackathon

To create brand-new Ethereum solutions, hackers will collaborate in groups of up to six people or work alone. Teams will have 48 hours to complete their tasks without stopping. There are no restrictions on applying, but the organizer will screen the applicants to guarantee the highest possible standard of competition. The hackathon is ideal for meeting global blockchain developers and obtaining practical experience because participation is completely free.

Deliverables

Each group should offer the following:

  • Project’s name with a short description
  • Discord username for a person of contact
  • Repository with the project’s code
  • Video demo (X to Y minutes)
  • Presentation (up to X slides)
  • The contract address(es) or website URLs of your deployed application (NOT mandatory)

Participants are expected to submit the items listed above in full.

Judging Criteria

The following criteria will be used by the jury to evaluate each project:

Technical aspect

  • How complex was the project to build?
  • How well does the project leverage technology?
  • How well and elegant is the project designed?

Practical aspect

  • Does the project fill a current existing gap in the blockchain space?
  • To what extent is the project economically justified?
  • Is the onboarding process simple enough?

Innovation aspect

  • How original and innovative is the project?
  • Does the project leverage new technologies?
  • Does the project enable new types of solutions to be created?

If Hackathon participants pay attention to the above criteria, they are one step closer to the grand prize.
