Crypto News– Data reveals that market participants can leverage a mere $1 in fees to facilitate a greater number of XRP transactions compared to some of the most prominent digital assets, including BTC, ETH, ADA, and MATIC.
XRP Leads the Way: More Transactions at 1 Dollars Fees Than BTC, ETH, ADA, and MATIC
Blockchain technology aims to revolutionize traditional finance by offering reduced fees and faster transaction processing. While most blockchain networks already exhibit lower transaction costs compared to traditional financial systems, some stand out with exceptionally minimal fees.
XRP Transaction Fees
Recent data confirms that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ranks among the networks with the lowest transaction fees. Thanks to this cost-effective fee structure, users can carry out numerous transactions for as little as $1.
XRPL Fees Breakdown
Official data indicates that the average fee on the XRPL is a mere $0.0002 per transaction. At this rate, enthusiasts can perform up to 5,000 XRP transactions with just $1. To put this into perspective, the same $1 cannot initiate a domestic wire transfer with a U.S. bank, which typically charges an average fee of $30, as reported by Forbes.
Fees on BTC and ETH
Despite the XRPL surpassing most blockchain networks in terms of transaction fees, it’s worth noting that these networks still offer significantly lower fees compared to traditional systems such as wire transfers, SWIFT, PayPal, and Wise.
Notably, Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, currently boasts an average transaction fee of $2.070, according to data from blockchain analytics resource Ycharts. With this fee level, it is virtually impossible to conduct even a single BTC transaction with $1 in fees.
Furthermore, additional data reveals that Ethereum’s transaction fees remain substantially higher than those of the XRPL, even after the network’s transition to Proof of Stake (PoS) in September. Ycharts confirms that the current fee per transaction on Ethereum is $0.639.
With this prevailing fee of $0.639, market participants can only initiate one transaction on Ethereum using $1. While the remaining $0.361 cannot cover another ETH transaction, it can still be utilized for up to 1,805 XRP transactions. This clearly highlights the substantial fee difference between ETH and XRP.
ADA and MATIC Fees
As inherently Proof of Stake (PoS) networks, both Cardano (ADA) and Polygon (MATIC) offer lower fees compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Data from Cardano Explorer indicates that ADA boasts an average cost of 0.17 ADA ($0.042) per transaction.
With fees of $0.042 for each transaction, proponents can perform 23 transactions on Cardano with just $1. While this figure falls short of the XRP Ledger, it still outperforms most legacy payment protocols by a significant margin.
