Leading game development platform Unity is utilizing Web3, the business announced in a news release on Tuesday, by adding a “decentralization” category to its online storefront.
For Game Developers, Unity Has Released Decentralized Technology Tools
Thirteen distinct blockchain-based software developer kits (SDKs) from chains and products like Algorand, Aptos, Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain, Immutable X, MetaMask, Solana, and Tezos are now supported by the video game engine as part of the toolkit.
The video game engine intends to give game designers tools to interact with Web3 gaming, a growing crypto industry. To improve gameplay experiences, developers can incorporate blockchain technologies like NFTs and the metaverse via the decentralization storefront in the Unity Asset Store.
About Developments in Unity
Web3 game developers, who have previously optimized their products for Unity, have been eagerly awaiting the entry of the video game engine into the market with its own tools. Prior to its March 2022 launch, Web3 gaming platform Joyride collected $14 million, helping game makers use the video game engine to create their creations. The blockchain infrastructure firm ChainSafe raised around $19 million the following October with a focus on assisting game developers in connecting their games to the gaming engine.
