After months of tease by its previous CEO, Elon Musk, the well-known social media platform Twitter formally changed its name to X.
Twitter Rebranded as X by Elon Musk. Is Bluebird Being Bid Farewell?
The well-known social media app underwent a facelift that saw its famous bird emblem replaced with a straightforward X. The social media app’s color scheme was changed from blue to black as part of the rebranding. The new domain name x.com, which was utilized for Twitter’s new URL, served as a reference to Musk’s 1999 financial services company, which was bought out by PayPal.
Musk and Greg Kouri, who eventually provided funding for Musk’s other businesses, Tesla and SpaceX, founded X.com, an early online bank. On the other hand, SpaceX and the Tesla automobile brand are just two of Musk’s ventures that employ the letter X.
About Rebranding
Musk announced the rebranding yesterday with a tweet from his own account.
In order to facilitate Twitter’s rebranding, Musk created X Corp. in March to serve as the parent company of Twitter. Musk’s plan to develop a super app with numerous features includes a rebranding. Twitter unveiled a new feature in April that has let app users use the app to access the cryptocurrency market and other services related to the financial markets.
If executed properly, X, according to Musk, may grow to be a well-liked platform for banking, payments, and data, with the potential to eventually make up “half of the global financial system.” However, many users who thought it was a bad idea to replace the recognizable blue bird with a new notion opposed Twitter’s makeover.
