Crypto News – The highly anticipated DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon has been rescheduled, and SpaceX has accepted Dogecoin (DOGE) as payment.
Progress on DOGE-1 Lunar Mission: SpaceX to Accept Dogecoin Payments
Samuel Reid, the CEO of Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), revealed the deal by saying that GEC paid SpaceX in DOGE to reschedule the DOGE-1 Mission after it had been delayed. The mission was originally scheduled to fly as a payload on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in 2022. However, it was postponed since the satellite was not prepared in time for the launch of the Intuitive Machines IM-1.
Reid explained that the new agreement puts the DOGE-1 satellite on an open manifest basis for a mission that may take place after IM-1, contingent on the timing of the satellite’s shipment from Exobotics UK to Maverick Space in the United States. It also includes a rebooking fee paid in Dogecoin.
That doesn’t mean that DOGE-1 is not launching or that it’s not happening. DOGE-1 was trying to make it on IM-1 and almost did,

Reid Has Not Given Up Hope
Reid is still upbeat about the DOGE-1 mission despite the delay. He clarified that rather than a lack of commitment or capacity, the mission’s deferral was caused by incomplete specifications for the radio and the satellite. This degree of openness and communication from GEC is intended to calm enthusiasts who are anxiously following the mission’s developments.
