Etihad Airways Set to Launch Exclusive 300-Edition Expansion of EY-ZERO1 NFT Collection with Exciting Benefits for NFT Holders

Etihad Airways, the flagship airline of the United Arab Emirates, is poised to unveil an exclusive expansion of its EY-ZERO1 non-fungible token (NFT) collection, featuring 300 limited editions, on August 1st.

The latest release comes with a plethora of enticing rewards for NFT holders, including coveted Etihad Guest Silver Tier Status, priority check-in privileges, exclusive lounge access, and the opportunity to earn miles by staking their NFT assets.

Originally introduced to the market in July 2022, the EY-ZERO1 NFT collection, built on the Polygon blockchain, showcases stunning 3D aircraft models.

This new edition pays homage to the elegant Boeing 787 Dreamliner, as seen in the blockbuster movie “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.”

In the past, the original EY-ZERO1 collection had already offered alluring perks, such as a year-long Etihad Silver Tier status and access to an exclusive event for NFT holders at the Yas Marina Circuit Formula 1 race.

However, the latest NFT collection takes things to the next level by significantly expanding the array of digital and real-world rewards. Holders of these exclusive NFTs will be entitled to a 12-month Etihad Guest Silver Tier Status, expedited check-in services, a remarkable 25% bonus in earning Etihad Guest Miles, as well as the privilege of enjoying the luxurious lounges at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Furthermore, NFT holders will gain access to the prestigious Etihad Virtual Club, offering a fast track towards upgrading from Silver to Gold Tier status and receiving a personalized Etihad membership card.

Looking ahead, Etihad has ambitious plans for September, when it intends to launch its web3 loyalty program called the “Horizon Club.” This innovative program will introduce a staking-for-miles initiative, enabling the community to lock up their NFTs and earn valuable Etihad Guest Miles, which can be redeemed for flights, upgrades, and an array of exciting perks.

Developed in collaboration with Arcube, a prominent real-world asset tokenization firm, serving as Etihad Airways’ official web3 partner, the acquisition of these NFTs can be done through cryptocurrency or credit card payments, facilitated by the reliable infrastructure firm Crossmint.

While Etihad Airways eagerly embraces the immense potential of blockchain and NFT technology, it’s crucial to recognize that several leading European airlines, like Lufthansa and Eurowings, have also ventured into exploring web3 integrations and are actively monitoring its applications for their business models.

In June, Japan’s largest airline group, All Nippon Airways (ANA), took a significant step forward by launching its NFT marketplace to enhance its Web3 strategy. This visionary move includes ambitious plans to create a metaverse travel experience, seamlessly integrating passengers’ flight histories into their digital avatars.
