Bit2Me and Mastercard Collaborate to Offer Crypto Debit Card

Сrypto-backed debit cards are getting more popular and the overlap between Web2 and Web3 technologies increases. On February 10, the biggest Spanish bitcoin exchange Bit2Me made the announcement about their new cashback debit card with Mastercard. CEO Leif Ferreira said that the usage of familiar Web2 financial instruments like debit and credit cards will aid the widespread acceptance of this new technology.

9% Crypto Cashback

The card will provide its users to make purchases at any of the millions of locations accepted by the Mastercard network. According to the latest update, all purchases now qualify for up to 9% cryptocashback. At the moment the card and the wallet are compatible with eight different cryptocurrencies,but later this year the company has plans to roll out support for many more currencies.

Bit2me

In 2021 the firm announced that it will provide services internationally. Since that time the firm has been planning for the extension of its services. Although 69 nations now have access to Bit2Me, residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) may only apply for a digital card.

Mastercard

Mastercard also has been very proactive in the Web3 market, providing new services and possibilities to its users and customers.For example, it selected seven blockchain and cryptocurrency firms to participate in its fintech accelerator programme in the last year. Mastercard also collaborated with Polygon in order to develop a Web3 musician accelerator programme as an integration of new technologies into the music world.
