The popular XRP Ledger wallet has received its first update in seven months with the release of Xumm 2.4.0 by XRPL Labs.
Xumm 2.4.0 Released by XRPL Labs
The Xumm team announced the update in a tweet on its official Twitter account. Due to the fact that it is being released as a staged release, the update may appear delayed for some users.
The major update brings with it three enormous changes, including greater NFT functionality, support for cross-currency payments, and enhanced encryption.
Greater NFT Functionality
The new NFT features offer many different benefits to users. For example, users will be able to easily view their NFTs on the home screen. Moreover, people will be able to trade their digital collections using the app.
Cross-Currency Payments
Wietse Wind, a senior XRPL Labs, and Xumm developer teased the Pathfinding solution last year, which is used in the cross-currency payment capability. It would do away with the requirement for manual conversion by enabling users to send payments using any XRPL-supported token while the recipient receives the payment in their preferred currency.
Enhanced Encryption
AES 512-GCM encryption is the latest encryption technology that Xumm has adopted for security. Users must manually update their account settings to use the most recent encryption algorithm after updating their wallet. In addition, accounts created following the change will automatically use the most recent encryption. Moreover, users can now cancel push notifications from third parties.
