Travala Integrates Solana for Free Crypto Transactions and Travel Bookings
The Solana blockchain’s major tokens are now supported by Travala, an online travel booking service that runs on cryptocurrency. At the Solana Breakpoint conference in Singapore on September 21, Travala CEO Juan Otero revealed the company’s integration with the layer-1 blockchain ecosystem, Solana. Through the collaboration, tourists may make reservations for lodging and transportation on the Solana blockchain using USDt and USD Coin, two of the major stablecoins, as well as Solana, the native token.
Coinbase Set to Launch Wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC) on Solana Blockchain
Although Solana integrates with Travala, users can deposit and withdraw supported tokens directly on Travala accounts with zero-fee transactions on travel bookings. Travala has a history of taking payments in Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies, including Ether. On X, cryptocurrency aficionados and investors celebrated the partnership and looked forward to a smooth travel booking process. In the near future, Travala will also launch SOL travel rewards.
On the other hand, as it unveiled intentions to bring Coinbase’s new cbBTC, a wrapped Bitcoin asset, to the Solana network, the cryptocurrency exchange is also placing bets on the Solana blockchain. Although a precise launch date has not been disclosed, Hassan Ahmed, the country director for Coinbase in Singapore, talked about that decision.
We recently launched cbBTC on base, but our users love Solana, and so do we. So we are very excited to announce that we will be bringing native cbBTC to Solana as well.
