TON Society Offers 1 Million Toncoin Tokens for Identity Verification via Palm Scanning Technology
Crypto News – TON Society, a pioneering force within the Open Network (TON) ecosystem, has earmarked $5 million worth of Toncoin tokens to incentivize users towards adopting cutting-edge palm scanning technology for identity verification.
Under this initiative, TON Society, comprised of a dedicated community of developers and contributors committed to advancing the TON ecosystem, will allocate 1 million Toncoin tokens to users who actively engage in the voluntary proof-of-personhood program. The overarching goal of this endeavor is to facilitate seamless digital identity verification for Telegram users over the next half-decade.
Powered by HumanCode’s innovative technology, this project empowers users to authenticate their human identity directly on the blockchain. Accessible via both Google Play and the Apple Store, the application enables individuals to conveniently scan their palms using their smartphones. Notably, this technology prioritizes privacy protection and boasts hardware-agnostic functionality, ensuring compatibility across a diverse range of mobile devices.
In endorsing proof-of-personhood protocols such as HumanCode, Ekin Tuna, Director of Growth at the TON Foundation, emphasizes the strategic significance of cultivating a practical reputation system with tangible real-world applications within the TON ecosystem. He asserts, “A scalable, private, and decentralized identity will serve as a pivotal catalyst in onboarding the initial one billion users into the Web3 ecosystem on Telegram.”
Incentives under the HumanCode framework will be extended to TON Society members who successfully complete a palm scan to authenticate their personhood. Membership within the Ton Society is open to the public and can be obtained by linking a TON wallet to the community organization.
In a significant development in March, the TON Foundation allocated 30 million Toncoin tokens, equivalent to approximately $115 million, towards diverse community rewards aimed at fostering widespread adoption. These incentives are being channeled into four distinct categories: $38 million allocated to token mining and user incentives, $22 million earmarked for airdrops, $15 million dedicated to the League developer ecosystem, and $40 million allocated for liquidity pool boosts.
March 2024 marked the official launch of the Telegram Ad Platform, built atop the TON blockchain. This platform empowers Telegram channel owners globally to monetize their channels by exclusively facilitating advertising transactions and sharing revenue with channel owners in Toncoin.
