Terraform Labs Decision: Reopening Shuttle Bridge Update

After a bankruptcy court order in Terraform Labs‘ (TFL) Chapter 11 case, Terra has made significant announcements. TFL’s reorganization efforts have reached a turning point with the court’s approval to carry out important actions, including restarting Shuttle Bridge and deleting a substantial quantity of LUNA tokens.

Terraform Labs Decision Reopening Shuttle Bridge Update

An important piece of infrastructure for moving money between Terra and other blockchains was the Shuttle Bridge, which had previously been shut down. With the intention of streamlining the redemption process, TFL intends to move all of the assets stored in the Shuttle Bridge wallet to a new wallet.

  • Users can redeem their wrapped assets from the Bridge wallet within a 30-day window, according to Terra.
  • Any assets in the wallet that remain after this time will be deleted since TFL plans to permanently close Shuttle Bridge.

Terra’s Bankruptcy Plan: 150 Million LUNA Tokens to be Destroyed

With the aim of decreasing the amount of LUNA in circulation, TFL is permitted by the court order to revoke the distribution and destroy 150 million LUNA tokens that were acquired through Terra community funding. Part of a larger plan to stabilize LUNA’s value and win back the trust of investors and the community is this destruction.

These steps are part of TFL’s proposed Chapter 11 plan, which has not yet gotten complete approval from the bankruptcy court and is not anticipated to go into force until late September 2024, at the latest. Included in TFL’s overall plan to come out of bankruptcy and establish Terra as a solid and trustworthy participant in the cryptocurrency sector is this idea.
