Recently, the Series C round, which sponsors by Lightspeed, Variant, and a16z, was successfully concluded. The round leads by Blockchain Capital and Dragonfly Capital.
Recent Developments in zkSync
zkSync announced the completion of a $200 million Series C financing round jointly led by Blockchain Capital and Dragonfly Capital. Moreover, it also announced its open-source MIT License and its recent partnership with blockchain security giant OpenZeppelin.
C Series Round and Mission
The most recent Series C round takes the mission’s total funding to $458 million. Included in this are an independent $200 million ecosystem fund, a16z’s led $50 million Series B round, and $8 million in Series A and Seed Round. In addition, they aim to use the C-series for the following purposes:
- Starting first-party Matter Labs projects on zkSync
- Supporting initiatives in the third-party ecosystem created by other teams
- Develop Matter University, the main educational + tutoring facility they operate
As a result, zkSync will continue to gain popularity among developers as they expand their staff.
