As part of the deployment of the Shibarium ecosystem, the developers of the Shiba Inu ecosystem are developing a service that may be used to connect physical assets to NFTs to help confirm ownership.
Shiba Inu Introduces Groundbreaking Shibacals
Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama said in a Thursday update that the so-called “Shibacals: Authenticated Collectibles” will use NFC chips to digitally authenticate actual goods, potentially increasing the value of these collectibles. Devices can interact wirelessly over relatively little distance with near-field communication.
The NFT craze is, in part, due to the verifiable ownership and scarcity that digital items on the blockchain offer. But, what about physical objects? As mass adoption unfolds (preferably on Shibarium), and scammers move from wallets to tangible items, how will we authenticate these items?

For instance, Shibacals can be used to create a tag for a physical item, like a hat, that is linked to a user’s collection of NFTs and serves to confirm that the person who owns both the hat and the NFT is the same person. Buyers can distinguish authentic products from duplicates when resold with the ability of these tags to be validated on the blockchain.
About Shibarium Blockchain
The SHIB, BONE, and LEASE tokens will be used to run the layer 2 blockchain called Shibarium, which is intended for metaverse and NFT applications. According to the creators, the blockchain is anticipated to go online later this year.
