Satoshi Nakamoto Exposed: A Closer Look at Recent Email Assertions

Both Strike CEO Jack Mallers and Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack have voiced criticism against efforts to unveil Nakamoto’s identity based on these new emails. Last week, prosecutors in Craig Wright’s claim to be Bitcoin’s creator revealed email evidence shedding light on various aspects of the elusive Bitcoin founder. Details included Nakamoto’s correspondence from the Pacific timezone and requests for project donations in euros, with Hashcash inventor Adam Back contributing to the evidence.

While the crypto community was intrigued by this new information, caution prevailed against using it to uncover Nakamoto’s real-world identity, deeming such attempts irresponsible and immature.

Jack Mallers, CEO of Bitcoin payments firm Strike, likened speculating on Satoshi’s identity to the antics of “frat brothers trying to climb up the social curve.” Similarly, Bitcoin podcaster McCormack emphasized the dangers of ‘doxxing’ pseudonymous individuals, stressing that any public speculation based on email disclosures could put individuals and their families at risk.

Aside from shedding light on Nakamoto’s identity, the emails also revealed their aspiration for Bitcoin to have 100,000 nodes and their reluctance to promote Bitcoin as an investment vehicle.
