Plonky3: Polygon Introduces Enhanced ZK Proving System

Plonky3– Polygon Labs has announced the production readiness of Plonky3, the next generation of Polygon’s zero-knowledge (ZK) proving systems.

Offers developers modular and flexible options for creating zero-knowledge virtual machines and zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machines (EVMs).

This upgrade from the earlier Plonky2 model will be open source and accessible under the MIT/Apache license, allowing users to freely use, modify, and distribute the software.

Polygon’s Enhances Developer Flexibility and Modularity

Polygon’s latest marks an advancement from Plonky2, offering developers enhanced modularity and flexibility.

In a Q&A with Cointelegraph, Polygon co-founder Daniel Lubarov highlighted that Plonky3 builds on the successes of its predecessor, setting a new industry standard.

Plonky3 Aims to Boost Ethereum Scalability with Enhanced ZK Technology

Plonky3 aims to significantly enhance Ethereum’s scalability, supported by Polygon Labs‘ longstanding focus on ZK technology for Ethereum’s growth.

In a discussion about Plonky3’s impact and performance compared to its predecessor, Polygon co-founder Daniel Lubarov emphasized that it’s challenging to make direct comparisons among ZK proving systems. However, Lubarov noted that offers substantial improvements, being about 5–10x faster than Plonky2 for certain computations and configurations.

TON Application Chain Integrates Polygon CDK for Expanded EVM-Compatible DApps

TON Application Chain (TAC) and Polygon Labs announced on July 9 their integration of Polygon CDK to bring EVM-compatible decentralized applications (DApps) to TAC.

The move aims to broaden the range of applications accessible to TON users, encompassing identity solutions, gaming, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

According to Pavel Alktukhov, CEO of TAC, EVM compatibility will streamline TON Network usage, lowering entry barriers and fostering increased engagement in DeFi and gaming finance.
