Pixelverse Plans To Integrate The Pudgy Penguin Character Into A Telegram Mini-Game

Pixelverse plans to incorporate the Pudgy Penguin character into a new mini-game on Telegram

Pixelverse plans– On July 16, Pixelverse announced the integration of the beloved Pudgy Penguin character from the popular NFT collection into its upcoming Telegram mini-game. This move sees Pudgy joining other crypto icons like Doge from Dogecoin and Mew from Solana, offering players a chance to interact with these characters within the Pixelverse game. The full-fledged Pudgy Penguins game is scheduled for an official release in 2025.

Decline in NFT Sales Volume Signals Market Correction in Q2 2024

In the second quarter of 2024, the NFT market experienced a sharp decline in sales volume, dropping by 45% compared to the first quarter of the year. According to CryptoSlam, a digital collection data tracker, NFT sales plummeted from $4.1 billion in Q1 to $2.24 billion in Q2, marking the lowest quarter since Q3 2023.

Experts view this downturn as part of a correction cycle for the NFT market, which had seen explosive growth in previous years. Anoir Houmou, founder and CEO of RECRD, a video engagement platform backed by Sui, noted that these trends indicate a maturing market adjusting after a period of rapid expansion.

Web3 adoption sees continued growth driven by gaming despite declining transaction volumes

Despite lower NFT sales volumes, Pixelverse and Pudgy Penguins remain prominent in Web3 gaming and NFTs. Pixelverse’s Telegram mini-game, PixelTap, reportedly amassed over 50 million users within its first month.

Kori Leon, co-founder of Pixelverse, emphasized the critical role of community-building in Web3 projects, noting, Successful projects prioritize community, culture, and distribution over mere promises, crucial for sustained ecosystem growth.

Despite market challenges, the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection has achieved nearly $400 million in total sales, leading Ethereum-based NFTs with $12 million in sales last month. In May, Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Schnetzler reported selling one million plushies based on the NFT characters worldwide.

In July, TON-based game Hamster Kombat attracted 239 million users in under three months. Telegram founder Pavel Durov hailed its success, envisioning it as a gateway to blockchain adoption for up to 200 million users.
