Naming Protocol Clusters Launch With Layerzero And Delegate Collaboration

Crypto News – In partnership with the interoperability platform LayerZero, the Ethereum infrastructure project Delegate is unveiling a blockchain-based name system called Clusters today.

Complex blockchain addresses are translated into human-readable names via domain name providers. The most well-known example is the Ethereum Name Service. Through interaction with Oracle provider Chainlink, ENS does enable the registry of addresses from other blockchains; however, the data is still kept on Ethereum as a single point of truth. According to a post on X, Delegate‘s alternative seeks to integrate this type of registry natively into several blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, other EVM-based chains, and eventually Bitcoin.

Clusters is a cross-chain, multi-wallet naming protocol addressing issues like address fragmentation, wallet management complexity, and domain squatting. It serves as a unified identity layer, enabling users to maintain a consistent identity across multiple chains — very similar to what ENS does, but for many chains, natively.

What Do Clusters Do and How Do They Work?

The service’s primary technology will be LayerZero. Its protocol is made to enable communication across blockchains. It can be used for information exchange or for exchanging value, such as tokens. Delegate, who was formerly known as Delegate Cash, has prior experience with blockchain address management. Its primary protocol allows owners of cryptocurrency wallets to assign privileges or obligations from one wallet to another.
