According to CertiK’s Monthly Crypto Losses Report, Hack and Scam Losses Declined in April

Crypto News – As April comes to an end, security company CertiK reported that the month saw the lowest total losses from hacks and scams pertaining to cryptocurrencies.

According to CertiK’s Monthly Crypto Losses Report, Hack and Scam Losses Declined in April

CertiK added that the overall loss for April is a 141% drop over the prior month. Breaking it down, the company stated that, based on the cases it verified, exit scams lost about $4.3 million, flash loans lost $129,000, and exploits lost $21 million.

Combining all the incidents in April, we’ve confirmed ~$25.7m lost to exploits, hacks, and scams. The lowest figure we’ve recorded, dating back to 2021.

Immunefi reports that during the first quarter of 2024, fraud and hacking cost the industry $336 million. Half of the $4 billion reported a year earlier, or $1.8 billion, was thought to have been taken by hackers from cryptocurrencies in 2023.
