About Aavegotchi
The Aave team first announced Aavetgotchi in 2018 with the idea of gamifying users’ DeFi experiences. Aavegotchi, which was originally put forward with this idea, has now become an ecosystem where players can play games and win various prizes. We can say that the game works in a similar way to the Tamagotchi. In the game, there are NFTs called Gotchi created with pixels, and these Gotchis live in a place called Gotchiverse.
Game Content
Gotchis are pixel-based NFTs that make up the game ecosystem, in which Aave tokens are staked as collateral. Of course, these NFTs are not randomly generated, and there are some conditions for their production. First you need to create an Aavegotchi to start the game. Aavegotchi are created through portals that act as a magical gateway between the universes called the Nether Realm and the Ether Realm. The Aavegotchi live in a universe called the Gotchiverse. You can dress up the Aavegotchies you have created in the market. You can buy new Aavegotchi’s on the marketplace. With the Aavegotchi created, you can explore the gotchiverse and play mini-games or games such as rarity farming. First of all, let’s talk about the components that make up the Aavegotchi, which are necessary for you to perform all these functions and provide you with the transition to the Gotchiverse universe.
Aavegotchies
For an Aavegotchi to form, they must traverse between realms called the Nether Realm and the Ether Realm. This transition happens through a magical portal. In order for gotchies to form, a certain amount of aToken must be staked. Let’s examine the first component, Spirit Force, which appears at the initial formation stage of Aavegotchi and represents this staking process.
Spirit Force
In the universe, gotchi NFTs are staked by Aave Token, symbolized as Spirit force. This provides Aavegotchie owners with a return thanks to the LendingPool system. Also, the longer the user holds the Aavegotchi, the more value they add to their Aavegotchi.
Each gotchie has a minimum spirit force value, which is determined before creation. Gotchies can be improved, but it cannot fall below the initial spirit force value. Remember that when you sell an gotchie, the Spirit Force value, i.e. your collateral value, is also transferred. If you want to remove the gotchie that you created by specifying a spirit force value at the beginning, the collateral value you set will be returned to you and the gotchie will be sent back to the Nether Realm universe forever, never to return. Now that we have learned the Spirit Force component that determines the value of your Aavegotchi, we can now move on to the Traits component that determines your Aavegotchi’s properties.
Traits
After gotchie is created, using the Chainlink VRF system, random properties are assigned to gotchie. These features affect your performance in the games you will play in the Gotchiverse universe. Features randomly assigned to gotchi after birth are Aggressiveness, Energy, Spookiness, Brain Size, Eye Shape and Eye Color.
Wearables
Wearables are the last ingredient that makes the gotchies. You can dress the gotchies you have created with the NFTs sold in the market. The NFTs that gotchies can wear vary according to the characteristics and rarity of gotchies. In addition, these wearable NFTs can positively or negatively affect the characteristics of your gotchies. You can buy wearable NFTs at any time and dress them in gotchie. The rarity levels of these wearable clothes and the rarity levels of gotchies can vary.
How to Play Aavegotchi
To start the game, you need to have the GHST token, which is the local cryptocurrency of the game. Thanks to the GHST token, you will be able to create gotchies and have the components that mades gotchie. We said that you must first have an Aavegotchi to enter the Gotchiverse universe. If you want, you can create gotchie yourself or buy it on the official secondary market of the game.
The Gotchiverse universe was created in 2D. With your gotchies, you can play mini-games or do rarity farming to earn money in this universe. Rarity farming is an important part of the gaming ecosystem.
Rarity Farming
In the game, apart from the components that determine the internal value and characteristics of your gotchies, there are features that determine the rarity of gotchies. You can increase your rarity score by taking care of your gotchies. The rarity score is determined by the characteristics of gotchie and the value of wearable NFTs. We can say that Rarity Farming is a system that emerged to make the gaming ecosystem sustainable.
For the Rarity Farming system, you need to grow your gotchi. The more you take care of your gotchi, the more your rarity level increases. At the end of each season, large GHST token rewards are allocated to the people who grow the Gotchie with the highest rarity level. The season times are determined by DAO. Mini Games
There are 2 different types of games in the gotchie universe, community-created games and official mini-games. At the end of these mini-games, you earn experience points(XP) that allow you to improve your Aavegotchi and increase its rarity level. If you want, you can develop the game. A fund for developers has been allocated to support games created by the community.
Tokenomics
Aavegotchi’s native cryptocurrency is the GHST token. The GHST token is basically created to balance 4 goals.
