Hong Kong SFC identifies and blacklists fraudulent cryptocurrency exchange platforms

In an official announcement on March 4, the SFC issued a warning regarding multiple suspicious websites masquerading as two licensed crypto trading platforms. The perpetrators behind these online schemes created fake domains mimicking two licensed exchanges in Hong Kong, namely OSL Digital Securities and Hash Blockchain Limited, also known as HashKey.

The SFC disclosed that a total of six websites were blocked, including hskexpro.com, hskex.com, hskexs.com, hskexit.com, oslexu.com, and oslint.com. This action was prompted by reports of difficulties in withdrawing funds, as well as excessive fees and commissions for withdrawals.

Following the SFC’s directive, the Hong Kong Police Force has intervened to prevent access to these fraudulent websites.

These blacklisted websites have been added to the SFC’s official crypto alert list, alongside other counterfeit platforms impersonating various cryptocurrency exchanges, such as MEXC. In a similar move on February 9, the SFC had previously identified and blacklisted eight domains impersonating MEXC.
