Hamster Kombat Aiming for a Guinness World Record?

Hamster Kombat– In the tech world, reaching 150 million users is a rare and impressive milestone. Only the most successful platforms manage to achieve it, which makes the rise of Hamster Kombat one of the most fascinating stories of 2024.

Pokémon GO, the augmented reality mobile game from 2016, took 33 days to reach 150 million users. It held the record until the summer of 2023, when Threads, Instagram’s rival to X, hit the mark in just six days.

Threads set an incredibly high standard, but now the newly launched Telegram-based game Hamster Kombat claims to be the third-fastest app in history to surpass 150 million users. The team behind this quirky game describes it as a crypto exchange CEO simulator rather than a typical clicker or tapper game. Over the past three months, the game’s player base has grown exponentially, thanks to a blend of engaging gaming and social mechanics.

The goal of the game, whether you prefer diligent tapping or strategic management, is to earn as many virtual coins or points as possible. Players are hopeful that their dedication will be rewarded with future airdrops, much like the ones given out by Notcoin, the spiritual predecessor of Hamster Kombat.

Cointelegraph spent a lot of time playing the game to understand its unique and engaging take on the idle game genre. These types of games are becoming incredibly popular on Telegram because they utilize the app’s extensive social network to quickly onboard millions of users.

Guinness World Record on YouTube?

Hamster Kombat’s in-game mechanics are closely tied to its YouTube content and social media platforms. This connection has led to its YouTube page rapidly surpassing the subscription numbers of MrBeast, the platform’s most subscribed channel worldwide.

According to Cointelegraph, the team behind Hamster Kombat has applied for a Guinness World Record. They aim to be recognized as the first YouTube channel to gain over 10 million subscribers in one week, achieving this feat in just six days, 13 hours, and 15 minutes, along with other subscriber-related milestones.

A YouTube expert told Cointelegraph that Hamster Kombat is currently earning $11 per 1,000 views in advertising revenue from its YouTube channel.

From its inception on May 24 to June 26, the channel has accumulated 473,709,858 views, translating to $5.2 million in earnings. The ad revenue has seen a steady increase, starting from as low as $100 in its early days to significant spikes over the past month.

According to data from Social Blade, the channel has been averaging 21 million views per day over the past two weeks. This amounts to $230,000 in daily ad revenue over the last 14 days.

What is Hamster Kombat? It’s more than just a clicker game

In Hamster Kombat, players start as bald hamsters who have just signed a contract to become the CEO of a cryptocurrency exchange. The core mechanic of the game is similar to a clicker, where you tap on your hamster avatar to earn coins.

This concept has been around for years but has recently gained renewed popularity, thanks in part to the viral Telegram mini-app Notcoin, which has been played by over 35 million people. Launched in January 2024, Notcoin eventually held a token airdrop, and the NOT token now boasts a market capitalization of $1.5 billion.

However, Hamster Kombat isn’t just about clicking. While tapping is the primary way for new players to earn coins, you also need to spend your accumulated points to buy upgrade cards for your exchange, such as acquiring licenses in new jurisdictions or listing new trading pairs. As the CEO of a hamster exchange, your avatar levels up as you advance up the corporate crypto ladder.
