Gemini Eyes IPO in 2025: Winklevoss Twins Reportedly Exploring IPO Plans
According to reports, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the creators of the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, are thinking about going public as early as this year. According to a Bloomberg story published on February 6 that quoted people familiar with the situation, Gemini, which was considered an initial public offering in 2021, is purportedly in discussions with possible advisers on a listing. But according to Bloomberg, discussions are still going on and no decisions have been made yet.

Bitwise Forecasts Major Crypto IPOs in 2025: Which Companies Could Go Public?
Bitwise, a crypto asset manager, forecasted that at least five crypto unicorns would look to go public in 2025, coinciding with Gemini’s rumored new IPO aspirations. In a December report, it identified Circle, Figure, and Kraken as possible candidates. Bloomberg said on February 5 that Bullish Global, a cryptocurrency exchange supported by billionaire Peter Tiel, is also thinking about going public.
However, Gemini also contemplated merging with the now-defunct Digital Currency Group in a “juggernaut” move. The startup could have competed with companies like Coinbase and FTX, according to CEO Barry Silbert, but it also filed for bankruptcy in late 2022. The Winklevoss brothers subsequently abandoned the plan, according to Silbert, although the combined businesses might have grown to be the biggest cryptocurrency custodians globally.
