In a joint statement released on April 23, the companies outlined their objective to establish a comprehensive AI and cloud computing hub in Vietnam, offering a one-stop shop for related services. This initiative will encompass AI products, GPU infrastructure, technological expertise, and specialized domain knowledge tailored to the needs of local clients.
FPT will contribute investment capital to the AI factory, which is envisioned to function as a sovereign cloud, while Nvidia will provide cutting-edge technology, including its latest AI enterprise software and frameworks, alongside Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs.
The stated aim of the collaboration is to position Vietnam as a global AI hub and transform the nation into an AI-driven economy, while simultaneously fostering the adoption of AI applications in neighboring countries such as Japan and Korea.
Keith Strier, Nvidia’s Vice President for Worldwide AI, emphasized the transformative potential of AI, stating that it has the capacity to enhance lives and bolster the economies of every country by driving innovation across diverse sectors including healthcare, agriculture, climate, and manufacturing.
The AI factory will play a crucial role in this vision by offering cloud GPU services to FPT’s corporate clients. These services will not only enhance the capabilities and speed of AI applications but also provide end-to-end generative AI services, facilitating the development and deployment of AI solutions.
Furthermore, Nvidia’s programs will be integrated into the educational curriculum, activities, training initiatives, and laboratory facilities at universities and high schools across the country. According to the statement, the initiative aims to reach at least 30,000 students.
In December 2023, Nvidia’s CEO disclosed plans to expand partnerships in Vietnam with the goal of attracting local talent to the AI industry.
