Tron Unveils HackaTron Season 5 and Embarks on Builder Tour
Tron, a leading public blockchain platform, has joined forces with Huobi Ventures and BitTorrent Chain to kick off the fifth edition of HackaTron on July 6, 2023. The competition invites developers to submit their innovative blockchain solutions and decentralized applications for a chance to win a share of the impressive prize pool of up to $500,000.
HackaTron Season 5 introduces a revamped structure, featuring five distinct tracks, including an exciting addition to a new AI category. The other four tracks encompass Web3, DeFi, Artistry (encompassing NFTs, GameFi, and metaverse projects), and Builder (dedicated to previous HackaTron participants). Participants are encouraged to showcase their talent and creativity in these different areas to impress the judges and secure their portion of the prize pool.
The HackaTron prize pool, worth up to $500,000, breaks down as follows:

Huobi Ventures will provide an additional pool worth up to $25,000 to all first-place winners across the five tracks, with each first-place winner eligible to receive an additional 5,000*.
They will also sponsor the Tron Builder Tour bug bounty for a total of 2,500*.
*All grant prizes are in USDD.
In HackaTron Season 5, participants have the opportunity to win prizes based on their ranking in the different categories, with the possibility of additional bonus awards. Qualifiers selected by the judges will receive their prizes in two milestones: 30% after publishing their project to the testnet by October 5, and the remaining 70% after publishing to the mainnet by November 30. Community-selected winners will receive their entire prize after the qualifiers on November 10 and the subsequent announcement of winners.
To foster increased participation, Tron has organized on-site Hacker House events as part of the Tron Builder Tour, which will run throughout the submission season. These events offer bug bounties and Tron-themed merchandise to further engage and motivate participants. The official registration platform for the hackathon will be hosted on HackerEarth, a prominent global hub with a vast developer community of over 7.6 million developers and connections to 1,000 recruiters.
