Binance Turkey organized a special webinar with the theme “Together We Can Build a Better Tomorrow” as part of International Women’s Day on March 8. In the webinar, where the importance of the role of women in the blockchain ecosystem was emphasized, leading names in the industry shared their experiences. In her opening speech, Binance Turkey Marketing Director Harika Eldoğan shared the gains from the experience gained at Binance, the largest ecosystem of blockchain technology and the crypto world. Eldoğan also talked about the opportunities Binance offers for women to gain a place in the blockchain world.

In the special session of the webinar, which emphasized the awareness that financial literacy will create, Financial Literacy and Access Association (FODER) Advisory Board Chair Özlem Denizmen shared her experiences. Denizmen revealed the opportunities that women would gain with blockchain technology and web3. In the webinar, Binance Affiliate members Ekin Albayrak, Filiz Yalçın, Binance Angel member Elif Kök and METU Blockchain Board Member Zeynep Tosun gave examples of the importance of women in the crypto world.

In line with this goal, Binance Turkey organized a special webinar on March 8, International Women’s Day. In the webinar, which stood out with the motto “Together We Can Build a Better Tomorrow“, leading women of the blockchain ecosystem shared their experiences.

The Blockchain Ecosystem is the Newest Opportunity for Women

On March 8, Binance Turkey Marketing Director Harika Eldoğan made the opening speech of the webinar and evaluated the aftermath of the earthquake that affected 11 provinces. Eldoğan emphasized that with this challenging process, it will become even more important for the blockchain world to open new areas for women and underlined the importance of the role of the Binance ecosystem in the awareness that will be created.

It Will Improve Lives

Eldoğan also mentioned the opportunities that the ecosystem and Binance offer for women in Turkey:

“We see more and more women in the blockchain world every day, and a significant number of these women are working under the roof of Binance. In other words, Binance continues its determination to prevent gender inequality in our industry. Our ecosystem has so much potential to improve people’s lives. As Binance, we take this ecosystem, which will create a transformation in the world, to our center, we care very much about ensuring the spread of blockchain and digital tools and spreading financial literacy to the masses.”

Eldoğan added that as Binance Turkey, they had reached more than 30 thousand people with training and different events as a result of their cooperation with universities on financial literacy.

Opportunities for Women from Binance

Within the scope of the 6-week mentorship program, she stated that both women would be awarded the training series that includes web3 basics and that anyone who fills out the form can benefit from a reward pool worth 1000 USDT. Eldoğan added that five people who are successful in these courses would be given 100 USDT gifts each.

Emphasizing that they are working to contribute to women’s crypto adaptation, Eldoğan said,

“We have a special campaign on Binance.com. We give 10 USDT worth of initial investment incentives so that women can make their own investments in this world. In addition, due to International Women’s Day on March 8, we remove trading commissions of up to $ 600 for new users who register on Binance.com until the end of March. With the Binance Sense program, we will answer every question women have about our industry.”

Financial Literacy is Essential to Manage Budgets Correctly!

In the second session, moderated by Tuğçe Bozkurt, Social Media Manager at Binance Turkey, Özlem Denizmen, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Financial Literacy and Inclusion Association (FODER), evaluated the importance of financial literacy for women. Denizmen stated that the ability of individuals to evaluate their income, savings, and investments wisely and manage their budgets correctly could only be possible with financial literacy.

Women Say Invest!

Denizmen said:

“Women’s relationship with money is very significant. Children also take what they see from their parents. They especially see their mothers more and copy their parents in terms of money. If a woman has money, she spends it mainly on education, health, and nutrition; in other words, on development, and then directs it to investment.” 

Stating that financial literacy is related to both self-development and the environment, Denizmen said:

“We women usually listen to a man’s opinion about finance. However, women are more patient and successful in investment. They research better. Therefore, women need to be more self-confident in finance. This is possible by reading more and including finance in their daily lives.”

“Build Communities, Join Communities!”

Speaking about how she stepped into the crypto world, Denizmen said:

“I wrote an article about crypto, which I met in 2016, in the newspaper I am still writing. Afterward, I developed my relationships and realized that blockchain is a revolution.”

Denizmen added that another way for women to be more involved in the blockchain and crypto world is to build communities, join these communities and have more contact with people who share information.

They Stepped into the Blockchain and Crypto Market with Binance!

In the webinar, Binance Affiliate members Ekin Albayrak and Filiz Yalçın and Binance Angel member Elif Kök talked about how they stepped into Binance and the crypto world and how Binance has played an enormous role from the first step until now.

Zeynep Tosun, a Member of the METU Blockchain Board of Directors, provided information on raising young female talents in the crypto industry.
