SushiSwap has revealed that it was the victim of an exploit on Twitter that caused a user with the nickname 0xSifu to lose more than $3.3 million. It is not yet known if 0xSifu was the only one affected or if others were involved.
SushiSwap has Become a Victim of Exploitation!
Only users who have used the exchange in the last four days appear to have been affected by the exploit. Reportedly, the root of the incident involves a confirmation error in the RouterProcessor2 contract, which PeckShield and SushiSwap Chief Developer Jared Grey recommended canceling on all chains.
Security company PeckShield warned early Sunday morning in Asia that “there appears to be an issue with validation in the SushiSwap RouterProcessor2 contact, leading to more than $3.3 million in losses,” which Sushi engineers later verified.
Jared Grey’s Statements
Although the exchange was “working with security teams to mitigate the issue,” Jared Grey encouraged users to remove permissions for all contracts on the platform as a precaution. Jared Grey also tweeted from his Twitter account about taking this measure.
On the other hand, the platform has developed a tool to see whether any of your addresses have been impacted and published a list of contracts from all chains that should be canceled.
