Shiba Inu’s Lead Developer Mocks Dogecoin’s New Game Announcement on X
In a recent exchange on X, Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, took a jab at Jordan Jefferson, the founder of the ‘MyDoge’ Dogecoin wallet. The incident unfolded after Jefferson teased an upcoming game on the Dogecoin network, posting a brief GIF of what appeared to be a scene from the game on August 9.
Kusama responded with a pointed remark, saying, “Laughs in Shiba Eternity,” highlighting the ongoing rivalry between the two meme-based cryptocurrencies. This comment comes at a time when Shiba Inu’s own ecosystem is making waves, particularly with the ongoing development of the Shiba Eternity game. Although Shiba Eternity has yet to be integrated into the Shibarium network, the recent unveiling of a welcome package for its play-to-earn (P2E) version has sparked considerable interest. The game’s transition from a Web2 to a Web3 platform is anticipated soon.
Meanwhile, Dogecoin’s foray into the gaming sector has generated significant buzz, further intensifying the competition between these two dog-themed meme coins.
Binance Fuels Speculation with Shiba Inu-Themed Post
Adding to the excitement, Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, recently shared an intriguing post on X, featuring an image of a Shiba Inu dog with the caption, “Guardian of the crypto universe.”
This post quickly caught the attention of the SHIB community, particularly through SHIB KNIGHT, a prominent community member who highlighted the post, driving more focus toward the Shiba Inu ecosystem. However, the post also sparked speculation that it could be hinting at other cryptocurrencies, including Neiro and Dogecoin.
At the time of writing, SHIB was trading at $0.0000141, reflecting a slight increase of 0.04% over the past 24 hours, while DOGE saw a 0.74% decline, trading at $0.1042.
Adding to the ongoing discussions, SHIB’s marketing lead, Lucie, noted on X that “In the last 12 months, SHIB outperformed ETH in terms of performance.” As of the latest figures, SHIB has gained 44.10% over the past year, surpassing Ethereum’s 42% gain.
