Shiba Inu Shibarium Hackathon: Building Innovative DeFi and Web3 Solutions for $5,000 Prize
The Shiba Inu Shibarium hackathon is extending an open invitation to tech enthusiasts, Web3 developers, and designers to participate in the creation of unique applications using smart contracts on Puppynet.
As the Shibarium mainnet launch draws near, the Shiba Inu development team has introduced an exciting new community activity – the Shibarium Hackathon. This initiative adds to the already thrilling releases promised by the team during the Summer of Shibarium.
The Summer of Shibarium marks a crucial phase in the Shiba Inu community, signaling the buildup to the mainnet launch of their layer-2 scaling solution. As per the team’s announcements, this period will be accompanied by exciting releases and updates.
The Shibarium hackathon was launched on June 30 with the goal of fostering collaboration and inclusivity. Lucie, the marketing specialist, revealed that the hackathon offers a grand prize of $5,000 in BONE.
It’s important to note that BONE serves as the governance token of Shibaswap and will be utilized for gas fees on the upcoming Shibarium mainnet.
The Shiba Inu bounty program targets talented tech enthusiasts, Web3 developers, designers, and visionaries. The Shibarium Hackathon is all about collaboration, encouraging participants to form diverse groups and work together on ambitious projects in a welcoming environment.
The hackathon primarily revolves around the development of new solutions and applications related to decentralized finance (DeFi), zero-trust finance, Distributed Cloud Operating System (DC/OS), and healthcare.
However, the Shiba Inu team allows for flexibility, stating that Shibarium hackathon teams have the freedom to work on any innovative solution. It’s emphasized that the applications must be entirely original and novel.
The official announcement expressed the team’s desire for participants to explore their creativity freely: “During this hackathon, you are free to build anything you like. In fact, we want you to come up with something completely original and new. For this hackathon, the project must be a new development to ensure equal opportunity.”
To be eligible for the grand prize, participants must follow specific rules. Chief among them is the requirement to utilize the Shibarium testnet (Puppynet) for all smart contracts used in their applications during the bounty program.
Additionally, teams are expected to document their work comprehensively, including technology and architecture details, which will be considered in the judging process. Moreover, participants are requested to provide short videos of 2 to 5 minutes as part of their work documentation.
It’s worth noting that the launch of the Shibarium Beta Bridge for public testing, as previously reported by The Crypto Basic, indicates that the Shiba Inu L2 scaling solution is on track to go live on the mainnet, as affirmed by Shytoshi Kusama.
Overall, the Shibarium Hackathon presents an exciting opportunity for creative minds to contribute to the Shiba Inu ecosystem and potentially win the grand prize, as the community eagerly awaits the mainnet launch of this innovative layer-2 scaling solution.
