Crypto News- In an exclusive interview conducted at Token2049, Ye Zhang, one of the co-founders at the forefront of Ethereum’s zkEVM Layer 2 innovation, Scroll, shared an intriguing glimpse into the ongoing developments within the project.
Scroll’s zkEVM Layer 2 Platform Set for Launch in Just Weeks
Zhang revealed that the highly-anticipated zkEVM launch is drawing near, with just a few weeks left following rigorous testing and comprehensive code reviews. The imminent release of the mainnet is poised to follow closely after the final testing phase, with major DeFi heavyweights like Uniswap and Aave preparing to onboard Scroll’s platform upon its mainnet launch, heralding a substantial uptick in platform adoption.
Zhang underscored Scroll’s unwavering commitment to providing “complete proof” for all Ethereum “opcodes” and transaction components, setting it apart from systems that harbor unverified elements, such as Linea.
As per Scroll’s meticulously laid out roadmap, the impending launch represents the fourth stage known as the “zkEVM main network stage.” This significant milestone follows extensive code audits and performance enhancements, culminating in the introduction of a decentralized sequencer.
Notably, in the previous year, Zhang Ye showcased the network’s design and architecture at the 8th Global Blockchain Summit, placing a spotlight on the project’s foundational principles of security, efficiency, EVM equivalence, and decentralization. The structural components of the framework encompass Scroll nodes, on-chain smart contracts, and a decentralized prover network.
Scroll made waves earlier this year with the successful acquisition of $30 million in Series A funding, spearheaded by Polychain Capital, along with notable contributions from influential figures within the Ethereum community, including esteemed members of the Ethereum Foundation.
Positioned as an Ethereum expansion network harnessing zk-rollup technology, Scroll’s injection of funding primarily bolsters the expansion of its engineering and operational teams, propelling the Layer 2 solution forward on its path to becoming a prominent player within the broader blockchain ecosystem.
