Crypto News- The second installment of the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, in collaboration with Tether (USDT), brings an intriguing addition this year – the Bitcoin Film Festival.
Plan ₿ and Tether Bitcoin arrives in Lugano
Scheduled for October in Lugano, the forum dedicated to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is once again hosted by the City of Lugano in partnership with Tether. The Plan ₿ Forum 2023, taking place on October 20th and 21st, marks the second edition following its debut last year.
An impressive lineup of speakers is set to grace the event, including notable figures like Adam Back and Nick Szabo from Blockstream, Lugano Mayor Michele Foletti, and Tether and Bitfinex CTO Paolo Ardoino.
Prominent names on the roster include Jameson Lopp, Max Keiser, Stella Assange (wife of Julian Assange), film producer Gabriel Shipton, Peter McCormack, and Giacomo Zucco.
The forum aims to provide a platform for engaging discussions, covering topics such as financial disintermediation, accessibility of financial services, Bitcoin regulation, and the challenges faced by the unbanked population.
Plan ₿, an official initiative of the City of Lugano, collaborates with Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin (USDT). The partnership, initiated last year, continues to thrive. It notably enables the payment of city taxes in Bitcoin, USDT, and LVGA (the city’s token). To date, it has established partnerships with over ten thousand businesses and awarded more than 500 scholarships. Additionally, they are in the process of creating a 100+ million CHF investor pool for crypto startups in the region and launching a 3 million CHF initiative to facilitate Bitcoin, Tether, and LVGA payments integration for local businesses.
As part of the Plan ₿ Forum 2023, the inaugural Bitcoin Film Festival is set to debut. This groundbreaking initiative focuses on the power of storytelling through cinema, emphasizing Bitcoin’s transformative influence on society and the economy. The festival will feature documentaries and themed films designed to educate, inspire, and prompt contemplation about the future of finance and individual liberty.
Scheduled for October 22nd, the Bitcoin Film Festival promises to be a convergence of the film and Bitcoin worlds. The event will be open to the public and completely free of charge.
Attendees can expect a diverse selection of films that delve deep into the essence of Bitcoin. These films will shed light on its profound impact on the global economy while providing valuable insights into the far-reaching implications of this groundbreaking technology.
