Superchain Engagement Earns Users $16M in Optimism Fifth Airdrop
Optimism, a Layer 2 network, launched its fifth airdrop, giving away 10.3 million tokens (approximately $16 million) to 54,700 user addresses. Users engaging with Superchain, a blockchain ecosystem created with the OP Stack, were especially rewarded by the airdrop. Wallets that engaged with at least 20 Superchain contracts between March 15 and September 15, 2024, are eligible for airdrops. The tokens can be claimed by users until February 13, 2025.

Optimism Airdrop History: 265 Million Tokens Distributed, 550 Million Still Available
Optimism has already given out approximately 265 million OP tokens with five airdrops. For upcoming distributions, there are still about 550 million OP tokens available. The first airdrop of optimism took place on May 31, 2022; the second and third took place on February 8, 2023, and September 13, 2023, respectively. In the third airdrop, approximately 32,000 addresses that participated in the Optimism Collective’s delegation efforts received 19.4 million OP, valued at $26 million at the time. In February 2020, there was a fourth airdrop after this.
