OneCoin Boss Dilinska to Spend 4 Years in Prison for Ponzi Scheme
According to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office on April 3, United States District Judge Edgardo Ramos sentenced Irina Dilkinska to four years in prison on Wednesday. Dilkinska received a four-year prison sentence, a one-month supervised release period, and an order to forfeit $111 million in restitution. According to reports, Judge Ramos turned down Dilkinska’s plea to stay out of jail and go back to Bulgaria to look after her young children.
According to Ramos, Dilkinska was “a woman of great intelligence and a woman who ought to have known better,” and during the $4 billion Ponzi scheme, she was fully aware of the legal ramifications of her acts.
I honestly do not understand what prevented her from leaving the scheme before the point when it was brought down,
Ramos
Dilinska is the Last Person to Go to Jail for this Scam
On November 10, Dilinska entered a guilty plea in a Manhattan federal court to accusations of wire fraud and money laundering. Dilkinska might have spent up to ten years behind bars because each crime had a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Dilkinsa is the most recent executive from OneCoin to be imprisoned due to their involvement in the fraud operation. Karl Sebastian Greenwood, the co-founder of the scheme, was compelled to pay $300 million in reparations and received a 20-year prison sentence for fraud and money laundering on September 12 of last year.
