Mercuryo Unveils Spend: The Card Aims To Integrate Crypto With Traditional Payments Across Europe

Mercuryo, a payment company, has introduced a Mastercard debit card for cryptocurrency owners in Europe. According to a statement released by Mercuryo on Thursday, customers can convert their cryptocurrency holdings into fiat currency and use the Spend virtual payment method to make purchases at over 90 million shops within the Mastercard network. With the help of Mercuryo’s affordable off-ramp costs and security, Spend hopes to become a commonly used payment method, according to the company.

The launch of Spend marks a significant milestone in our journey towards democratizing access to cryptocurrency and integrating it seamlessly with the traditional payment world,

Mercuryo’s Crypto Mastercard Card Brings Instant Access to 40+ Cryptocurrencies

The introduction of Mercuryo‘s crypto-to-fiat Mastercard debit card came after the company launched several comparable Mastercard payment solutions in recent years that are aimed at owners of digital assets. Spend allows users to keep and control the keys to their cryptocurrency holdings because it is integrated into a non-custodial wallet. According to Mercuryo, it works with 40 cryptocurrencies, like Ethereum and Solana. Also, users must abide by know-your-consumer and anti-money laundering regulations set forth by the card issuer.

According to the company, instead of the usual wait they would have when dealing with a bank, cryptocurrencies purchased through Spend are instantly available on the virtual card. The debit card is first accessible to cryptocurrency holders within the European Economic Area (EEA). Mercuryo, however, intends to expand Spend’s availability in other parts of the world shortly.
