Crypto News– Mastercard, the global payment juggernaut, is forging deeper into the realm of cryptocurrencies through a fresh partnership with MoonPay, a crypto payment platform.
Mastercard and MoonPay Team Up to Enhance Web3 Service Offerings
On October 25, MoonPay made an official announcement about its collaboration with Mastercard, with a shared objective of exploring how Web3 tools can enhance experiential marketing and establish novel ways to engage with Mastercard’s customer base.
Notably, the partnership was unveiled by MoonPay’s Enterprise President, Keith Grossman, and Mastercard’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Raja Rajamannar, during an appearance at Money20/20 in Las Vegas. Grossman shared the news on LinkedIn, revealing that Mastercard will leverage MoonPay’s entire Web3 portfolio, encompassing features such as authentication, minting, and ETHPass. They will also collaborate with the agency “Otherlife” to strategize, create, and develop the front-end components of their experiential initiatives.
Beyond crafting fresh Web3 experiences for consumers, MoonPay has committed to integrating Mastercard’s products and solutions to bolster compliance and trust within the Web3 industry. This integration will encompass the incorporation of Mastercard tools like “Click to Pay,” “Mastercard Send,” and “Mastercard Crypto Credentials” into MoonPay’s payment solutions.
Adam Polansky, Mastercard’s Web3 marketing representative, expressed gratitude for the partnership and conveyed excitement about what lies ahead. Elizabeth Taylor, Mastercard’s partnership executive, also conveyed optimism about the collaboration’s future prospects.
As of the time of writing, Mastercard had not made an official announcement about the partnership, and they had not responded to Cointelegraph’s request for comments.
Mastercard has been actively delving into the blockchain and crypto sector in recent years, introducing various industry-related products and services to its platform. In 2022, they initiated a program allowing banks to provide crypto trading capabilities to their clients, in conjunction with Paxos. Mastercard has also joined forces with Coinbase and MoonPay to facilitate payments in the Web3 space, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
