Magic Eden, a well-known NFT marketplace, has announced that it will form the Web3 Games Collective (W3GC) together with leading publishers and communities.
Magic Eden Forms Web3 Games Collective
NFT Marketplace announced its new venture at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. W3GC will be a partnership between Yield Guild Games, Game7, and Fenix Game. The main goal of the new initiative is to increase the adoption of Web3 games. Steven Chen, the core contributor at Game7, said:
“We’ve seen an emphasis on infrastructure investment for blockchain games, and many teams are doing great work tackling important problems in the technology and services ‘stack’. A focus on bringing in more quality games and [intellectual property] will drive the sector forward, as we saw with PC, console and mobile games.”
About W3GC
The new initiative is to make moves that will take Web3 games to the next level. Today’s Web3 games are very complex. Within this complexity, it is very difficult for developers to control and manage risks. W3GC will create a forum for game developers to solve these problems. Topics of discussion include:
- Project Financing / Funding
- Growth Marketing / User Acquisition
- Tokenized Economy Design
- Go-to-Marketing Planning
- Distribution / Player Liquidity
- Community
For Web3 developers, the forum will focus on solving the complex and challenging nature of Web3 games. Gabby Dizon, the co-founder of YGG, said:
“Working with a DAO like Game7 and a game publisher like Fenix Games enables YGG to address the industry’s challenges by simplifying the landscape and growing the ecosystem for mass adoption.”
