Crypto News- LayerZero launches eligibility verifier for upcoming token airdrop
Crypto News– LayerZero Foundation, which supports the cross-chain interoperability platform LayerZero, has announced the launch of an eligibility checker for its upcoming airdrop. Users of the platform can now verify their eligibility for the airdrop and review a summary of their user activity, including their start date and total number of transactions. This announcement was made in a post by Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs, the core developer of the protocol.
According to Pellegrino, a total of 1.28 million wallets meet the eligibility criteria for the airdrop.
In a recent social media post, the LayerZero Foundation hinted at the claim date for the airdrop with a visual featuring a white background and the date 06.20.2024, indicating the upcoming distribution on that specific date.
As the airdrop claim date approaches, LayerZero has intensified its efforts to prevent Sybil attacks, which involve the creation of multiple fake accounts to unfairly accumulate more free tokens distributed during the airdrop.
LayerZero’s anti-Sybil strategy includes implementing a bounty hunter program and a self-reporting system. The self-reporting system offers reporters 15% of their intended token allocation, while those who fail to comply will receive no tokens. This approach aims to discourage fraudulent activities and ensure fair distribution among genuine users.
In contrast, ZKsync, which conducted its airdrop recently, faced criticism from the crypto community for perceived shortcomings in anti-Sybil measures.
