Google Now Allows Users to Check Wallet Balances for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Various Blockchain Networks
Crypto News – Google has unveiled a new feature allowing users to check the balances of wallets across various blockchain networks including Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, and Fantom. When users enter a wallet address, search results now display the remaining token balance on each respective network along with the time of the last balance update.
The search giant clarified that balances reflect only the native token for each network, and the timestamp indicates the balance as of the last external transaction. However, users should note that updates are not instantaneous, highlighting the need for periodic checks.
In a recent enhancement, Google also introduced support for searching wallet balances associated with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains. ENS facilitates readable domain names for Ethereum wallet addresses, such as the notable example of Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin‘s domain, vitalik.eth.
These advancements build upon Google’s initial support for Ethereum wallet balance searches, which debuted in May of last year. Initially enabling users to search for specific public addresses and view wallet balances directly within search results, firm has now expanded its functionality to encompass a broader range of blockchain networks and ENS domains.
Despite these significant updates, Google has not yet responded to requests for further information from industry observers like The Block.
