Crypto News – It looks like part of the Lazarus Group‘s hoard is being moved around.
Famous Hacker Gang Lazarus Group Withdraws 1.2 Million Bitcoins
Lazarus Group is rumored to have been responsible for hacks and exploits worth about $3 billion in cryptocurrencies over the last three years. The organization has wallets worth $79 million that Arkham, a blockchain analysis company, has identified.
The Lazarus Group’s wallet received 27.371 Bitcoin (BTC) in two transactions, according to data from Arkham, before sending 3.34 BTC to a wallet that had already been used. It was unknown who made the coin mixer.
What is a Coin Mixer?
Generally, tracking the origin and transfer of cryptocurrency is a simple task because of the transparency of blockchains. A coin mixer, also known as a tumbler, is a blockchain-based protocol that may be used to mix up coins from other users before distributing them, covering up who owns what. Thus, it is impossible to determine who received what.
