A record-breaking milestone has been achieved as the total count of Ethereum (ETH) wallet addresses containing a minimum of one wei has soared to an unprecedented 99,355,406.
Ethereum non-zero addresses hit new all-time high
According to recent data from Glassnode, the number of Ethereum (ETH) wallet addresses holding at least one wei has surged to a record-breaking figure of 99,355,406. This milestone reflects the strong confidence of investors in Ethereum, despite the volatility of the market. The battle between bullish and bearish forces continues as the global crypto market capitalization remains below the $3 trillion mark achieved in November 2021.
The increase in wallet addresses with non-zero balances indicates that investors are holding onto their ETH in anticipation of higher returns. Although the price of ether has experienced a decline since reaching an all-time high of $4,876 in November 2021, hitting a low of $881.56 in June, the latest on-chain metric suggests that both retail and institutional investors are staying committed to their holdings.
However, it’s worth noting that the number of larger ETH holders, referred to as “whales,” holding 100+ ETH, has decreased to a six-month low of 46,858. The exact cause of this decline is uncertain but could be attributed to factors such as increased staking activity and portfolio diversification by these whales.
As of now, Ethereum is being traded at $1,807.35, indicating a 1% decrease in the past 24 hours. The current price represents a 62.96% decline from its all-time high of $4,878.26 in November 2021. The market capitalization of Ethereum stands at $217,193,216,738, accounting for 18.569% of the overall market cap dominance. The 24-hour trading volume for ETH is reported to be $6,145,561,021, according to CoinGecko.
