Crypto News – The testnet for X1, a brand-new Ethereum-based zero-knowledge (ZK) Layer 2 network, has been unveiled by cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Polygon Labs. X1 is a zkEVM validium that was created with the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK).

In a press statement published on the OKX website, the exchange said that this new breakthrough provides consumers and engineers with access to the biggest blockchain ecosystems in the world. The importance of X1 in easing people into the Web3 environment was also highlighted by Jason Lau, Chief Innovation Officer of OKX.

Sandeep Nailwal Shares His Views on Testnet X1
In a statement, Polygon Co-Founder Sandeep Nailwal remarked that X1’s adoption of Polygon CDK technology represents a major advancement. He emphasized once more that developers will have access to a “cheap and user-friendly platform to create decentralized apps” through the X1 network.
Integration of X1 into the Polygon Ecosystem significantly enhances the ecosystem’s network effects.

Along with other protocol engineers, OKX now becomes a part of the decentralized application platform NEAR Protocol, as outlined by Polygon Labs in the X announcement. Thus, they use the Polygon CDK to contribute to the creation of chain setups and tools.
